Ted Byrne has been around the Charleston Sports scene for many years.
Ted has served as the voice of The Citadel Bulldogs and the College of Charleston during some of their glory years in Athletics. Byrne was also the Voice of the Charleston River Dogs both on Radio and the Public Address system. Ted served as P.A announcer for the South Carolina Stingrays when they first came to town.
You may have watched Ted on TV in the Low Country, covering the Sertome Classic, and The Cooper River Bridge Run. He was a part of the TV news team following Hurricane Hugo that received one of Broadcastings most coveted awards, The Peabody.
Byrne left the Low Country for about 9 years, but returned "Home" to Charleston in 1995 when he accepted the position of Program Director for Kirkman Broadcasting. During Football season Ted host The Citadel Radio Networks Tailgate Show.
