Former NFL Player
Mike Golic and ESPN Sportscenter anchor
Mike Greenberg host a fun-filled, fast-paced, informative morning drive for the sports enthusiast. The show mixes sports news, analysis, entertainment, and big name interviews.
Mike Golic is the veteran among the two Mikes, having hosted the show since its premiere on Chicago's ESPN Radio 1000 on October 12, 1998. Since then, the show has added over 210 affiliates coast-to-coast. Golic joined ESPN in 1995 as an NFL reporter/analyst for Sunday NFL Countdown, and in 1998 became an original analyst for NFL2Night, a position he still holds weekday evenings on ESPN2. During the football season, Mike is also found on the college gridiron, joining Dave Barnett and Bill Curry in the broadcast booth Saturdays on ESPN2.
Golic welcomed his partner, Mike Greenberg on December 30, 1999, as "Greeny" added radio duties to his schedule of anchoring ESPNEWS, ESPN's 24-hour sports news network, a job he has held since September 1996. You can also catch him quite often on the 5 o'clock SportsCenter on weekday evenings. Prior to joining ESPN, Greenberg was a sports anchor/reporter for Chicago-area cable news network CLTV since April of 1995.
Listeners play a major part on the program, whether commenting on the news of the day or participating in features like the interactive "Bob Picozzi Did You Knowsie" featuring anchor Bob Picozzi, Tuesday's "Just Shut Up" Award, calling out the knuckleheads in the world of sports, and Friday's Stone Cold Lead Pipe Locks, picking winners in that weekend's NFL action.
